Well bucko's, 63 and I have been playing BC2 for a couple of days now and I thought I would give you my impressions so far.
Weapons are fairly balanced and the sounds are pretty good.
Remember in other games where the tanks wouldn't go through a wooden fence? Not a problem here, the tanks can knock down almost anything, fences, trees, small buildings, etc. And they are much faster than in other games, they get up and scoot.
There are also quad bikes, boats, humvees and heli's.
It is a lot of fun to shoot a tree with the tank, or the mounted machine guns for that matter and have it fall on an enemy.
The fully destructable environement is pretty nice too.
There is some bullet drop over distance, making it a little more realistic.
The assault rifles are not good when used as sniper rifles, like in some other games, but if you fire short bursts and watch where your tracers go, you can get some hits at fairly long range. I haven't used the pistol yet so I can't say.
So far the pistols don't seem to be able to shoot through concrete walls, like in Modern Warfare.
The maps are huge, well drawn, and the objectives are placed so as to not give attackers or defenders much of an advantage. The attackers seem to win as often as the defenders, maybe more.
The downside of the game.
I was hoping that being squad based that it would be a lot more tactical. It can be, if you have a squad that works together, but unfortunately most people just want to run and gun.
I haven't found a way to steady the sniper rifle yet, there may be one and I just haven't found it yet.
There is no prone or lean, making it harder to hide.
Over all impressions are favorable. Dedicated servers are still working out a few kinks but overall are pretty robust.
I think this is a game that we can bring the clan back together around. With teamwork like we used to have, we would be damn near unbeatable.
I hope more of you check it out and start playing.
